It could work (tm)! 

Despite what's written in the troubleshooting guide of the WebDav zimlet I managed to make it work. 
In /opt/zimbra/conf/nginx/templates/nginx.conf.web.https.default.template add on top, before location / , the following: 

location ^~ /nextcloud/ { 
proxy_pass http://your-upstream-server/nextcloud/; 
} 

This will [ https://stackoverflow.com/a/5238430/738852 | take precedence ] over the conflicting 
location ~* /(service|principals|dav|\.well-known|home|octopus|shf|user|certauth|spnegoauth|(zimbra/home)|(zimbra/user))/ 
line, allowing you to use [ https://your-zimbra-server/nextcloud | https://your-zimbra-server/nextcloud ] location safely.
