[Users] How to create external user shares from Zimlet

Hello All,

For WebDAV Client (ownCloud Zimlet) I am looking for a way to share an item from within a Zimlet 
or Zimbra for now with public/external users using a password.

I would like to do this without the need for an enabled briefcase and also avoid the ownCloud share
api, as that does not work with UTF-8 and also does not work on external storage.

I see there is an option in Zimbra on each folder to share with external users... that creates links 
like this: 
https://fqdn/service/extuserprov/?p=...

That goes to ZimbraWebClient/WebRoot/public/extuserprov.jsp

Ehh, does anyone know where to find more documentation on the external sharing in Zimbra, can this 
functionality be extended to do what I suggest above?

Or is there another method I dont know of?
