Hello Everyone, 

I wanted to share the news of a format change for the weekly Zeta Alliance calls. As you may already know, we meet weekly ( [ https://zetalliance.org/contact/ | https://zetalliance.org/contact/ ] ), every Tuesday throughout the year to discuss a range of agenda-driven topics related to Zimbra. Agenda items ( [ https://nextcloud.zetalliance.org/index.php/s/q7xK4if6zxaBAiR | https://nextcloud.zetalliance.org/index.php/s/q7xK4if6zxaBAiR ] ) are sometimes prepared in advance by call participants, or added to the agenda during a call. Most agenda items tend to be Zimbra operational issues that participants are experiencing & seeking group feedback on, general commentary on Zimbra, current Zimbra security concerns, and of course new or changing features in Zimbra as versions are released. Agenda items near always have an owner who leads the discussion on their item. Both myself and Mark Stone have been volunteering for the last few years to co-host the weekly Zeta Alliance calls, and we tend to average around 5-10 participants presently per call with calls averaging in duration from 30 - 90 minutes. Call participants tend to be Zimbra administrators operating Zimbra in a service provider environment, for a private organization, or personal use. We've had occasional drop-ins by Zimbra employees in the past. 

The Zeta Alliance call participants have voted to experiment with a format change suggested for the weekly calls. We will be continuing with our open call agendas focused on Zimbra as normal, where any call participant may add agenda items for discussion during a given week, but starting with this week's call (Tuesday, September 8, 2026), the agenda will be followed by a pre-announced topic on the Zeta Alliance mailing list and in the Community News section of the Zimbra Forums ( [ https://forums.zimbra.org/viewforum.php?f=9&sid=4abd8a77e7edc70a4795f6f70e8a714c | https://forums.zimbra.org/viewforum.php?f=9&sid=4abd8a77e7edc70a4795f6f70e8a714c ] ). Topics will be selected to solicit greater group participation by adding more diversity of voices to the mix, in recognizing the highest quality discussions occur when many viewpoints are present. These topics need not necessarily be only about Zimbra, but can be sufficiently broad in scope to encompass any topic related to the email industry. We will be starting modestly by having a group discussion of a new topic on every other week's call, and if successful, eventually shift to weekly group topic discussions. Our intent is to record the discussion of a given week's topic and to post it publicly so that anyone who could not attend the call has the opportunity to listen in as a kind of mini-podcast format. The location for publicly posted recordings will be announced when available. However, as normal, there are no plans to record the weekly discussion of agenda items, as call participants have voted they prefer the current non-recorded format, so you must attend in-person to listen in. :)
