[Users] Any recommended tools for Migration from Exchange to Zimbra

Hello Hans,

Thanks for getting back on this.

My colleagues emailed a bit with Audriga support, and either misunderstood the replies
or thought there was no local migration method.

Anyway, it took em a couple of days, not sure how much they email back and forth.

But then they tried the Legacy Wizard based on some feedback on the mailing list and
migrated some test accounts. And that seemed to take a lot less effort and cost no
money.

So I guess we will be using the Legacy Migration tool this time around.

Kind regards,

Dear Barry,

thanks for your input - we're always keen on getting feedback to improve things.

As for you first point: it's not required to reset any passwords on Exchange or Zimbra side, as our service does support admin authentication in both cases (and for many other systems as well). Where did you find the (incorrect) info that a password reset is required?

As for your privacy concerns, we've gone great lengths to make sure customer's data is safe during migrations. We're partnering with many renown hosting companies and vendors such as Zimbra/Synacor since many years.

A clear advantage of the cloud-based approach is that it is ready-to-use (does not require you to set up tooling by yourself) and can easily scale.

Also note that we do support local deployments of our tooling on a project basis for larger migrations or especially sensitive customers (this is currently not explicitly mentioned on the Zimbra cooperation page though).

Thanks and best,
Hans-Joerg
