Hello Malte,

It seems the issues you and other noted are still in the 8.8.4 release.

While upgrading the Alliance server worked, upgrade and fresh install on
my dev machines failed.

One server, keeps failing on initializing ldap (connection time out)
Another installs fine, but then nginx closes the connection.

Zimbra does work from un-proxied ports.

Since its a dev machine, I turned off ipv6 and removed zimbra proxy, and just ran
firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-forward-port=port=443:proto=tcp:toport=8443 --permanent
(and so on)

To make it work. It seems Zimbra 8.8.4 does not work out of the box on fresh
installs in most cases.

Kind regards,

There are two more issues I ran into while doing some recent beta tests
and which are probably not fixed in the GA:

* When you run a server in split DNS setup (ie. the hostname is
different from the public name) you'll have to set a few attributes or
else nginx will just close the TCP connection:

-> https://forums.zimbra.org/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=62637

* zmconfigd tends to die/stop working:

-> https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=108305

I also heard that the release from yesterday was actually pulled back on
short notice due a grave bug. So I wouldn't upgrade any production
systems until it is announced properly. I hope to get some infos on
that tomorrow at

Cheers,
