Hi Mark,

thanks for the heads up. Compared to the other log files, the sizes the 
gc.log can grow to is most the time still manageable but it can be 
surprising. Fortunately is this one of the smaller changes which are 
simple enough to fix. I opened two related pull requests to make the 
rotation the default and fix up the permissions if done so:

  * https://github.com/Zimbra/zm-mailbox/pull/389
  * https://github.com/Zimbra/zm-launcher/pull/2

These won't change the settings on existing systems but will apply on 
newly installed ones.
