[Users] freeconferencecall.com just released their linux desktop client

Hello,

just installed the lin package into my Unity Ubuntu Desktop. After that, I have a new lens in my Unity launcher
which works as expected.

I need to launch a real conf call to really try it.

I do not think it's a bug, but works as designed.

Anyways, calling it Linux client and only support Ubuntu? What is that?

Seems like a packaging bug on Fedora's end IMO.

On Fedora 23, this program cannot run:
/home/$USER/FCC/FCC %u
/home/bar/FCC/FCC: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Adding some symbolic links....
ln -s /usr/lib64/libssl.so.1.0.2h /usr/lib64/libssl.so.1.0.0
ln -s /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.10 /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.1.0.0

/home/bar/FCC/FCC: /lib64/libcrypto.so.1.0.0: version `OPENSSL_1.0.0' not found (required by /home/bar/FCC/FCC)

So FCC hard links to openssl-1.0.0.... that seems not optimal, while there may be a solution for the problem above, I lack the time
to look further now.

Kind regards,

Though Barry had issues installing it on Thursday, I just did it from Kubuntu and was able to share my screen.

Logged into the Zeta conference page wall. Downloaded the client. The direct link for it is :

https://www.freeconferencecall.com/desktopApp/app/FCC/en/Manual/FCC_installer.lin

Then: tar -xvf FCC_Installer.tar ; ./FCC_installer.lin

It will get installed in /home/$USER/FCC/ . Creates a menu item in KDE, command is /home/$USER/FCC/FCC %u

If we run into an issues with the client, we can submit a ticket via the below url. I also can skype one of the developers/sysadmin's there with our ticket issue to get some attention on it.
